Why should I come to the StoryBrand workshop?
Most business leaders are confusing their customers. They know too much about their products and services to explain them to people who know nothing. StoryBrand is a process that helps you think clearly about what you offer and why it matters to your customers. When you attend, you create a BrandScript and you’ll use that script to revise or recreate your website, email blasts, brochures, sales copy and more. The fastest way to grow your business is to start explaining things clearly. If you’ve got a good business but are having trouble getting the word to spread, we can help.
What’s the difference between a Team Meeting and a Workshop?
The workshop includes about 15 other business owners and leaders, each working on a different BrandScript. In 2 1/2 days we go through the complete process and even look at your specific materials, offering invaluable suggestions as to what you need to change. The Team Meeting involves us flying in to meet with up to 25 members of your team. We take you through the same process, but end up spending a great deal more time on your materials. The cost of the workshop is approximately $1,995 per person, and the cost of a Team Meeting ranges from $15k to $25k depending on the travel. If your team comes to Nashville, obviously, it’s much more cost effective. Still, us being in your environment has its value, too.
What can I expect to get as a return on my investment if I hire StoryBrand?
You can expect to make practical changes to both your sales material and marketing process that will make a significant impact in your sales. Our favorite clients are clients that are operating at a profit, have great customer reviews but are obviously communicating in a confusing way. We always know once we clear up your communication, those clients will see the largest return. For Team Meetings, we do a pre-meeting interview and analysis so we come into the meeting already knowing what needs to change.
Can you do the work for us once we know what needs to change in our marketing?
We’ve created new websites for clients and worked closely with the client and in-house designer to make sure changes are on-script and effective. Still, we specialize in teaching a way of thinking. We help you create a filter through which doing the marketing yourself is simplified and clarified so the job becomes much easier to do yourself. That said, we can help you follow through on any further services you require.
I hear a lot about story and business. Do you teach businesses to tell their story? Is that what this is about?
That’s about 2% of what we do. We can teach you to tell the story of your business if you give us ten seconds and a napkin. But that’s not where you’re going to see a return on your investment. What we really teach is the methods Hollywood screenwriters have used for years to compel a human brain. They’ve figured it out, and are making $490 billion per year doing it. We teach you what those methods are and how to employ them in your marketing materials. All of those methods hinge around the idea of clarity. The rule is to never, ever confuse your customers. Most of our clients are doing just that. They’re confusing their customers and they don’t know they’re doing it.
Who teaches the Workshops and Team Meetings?
Donald Miller teaches all of our workshops and Team Meetings. Don is the author of many books and a screenplay, and has built three successful companies. The process he has used to reform his marketing efforts is the process he will teach at StoryBrand. Don has spent thousands of hours thinking about “what to say” and you’ll be amazed at how quickly and easily he can show you how you might be confusing your customers. He has a knack for “just saying it”… ”It” being the thing your customer needs to hear to engage in a relationship with you.
