Reports to: President (Tyler Gin) and CEO (Donald Miller)

Growth Track: One-year pathway to Senior VP of Marketing with a longer-term CMO-track opportunity

We are hiring a VP of Marketing to own and operate StoryBrand’s entire marketing engine. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for a proven direct-response marketer who thrives in complex systems, brings order to fast-moving environments, and knows how to turn clarity into revenue.

This role is based in-office in Nashville, TN and works directly with StoryBrand’s executive leadership.

The Opportunity

StoryBrand is Building

A fully integrated marketing “factory floor” designed to:

• Generate high-volume, high-quality leads
• Convert subscribers into premium project opportunities for creative partners
• Drive revenue through a proven down-sell product ecosystem

The VP of Marketing owns this system end to end. You will unify funnels, optimize conversion paths, manage HubSpot infrastructure, and lead a small but high-impact team while partnering closely with the CEO, President, media team, and StoryBrand Certified Guide Program.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Lead Generation & Funnel Performance

Own daily lead acquisition with a target of 1,000+ new Weekly Soundbite subscribers per day

Build, manage, and optimize all HubSpot funnels, automations, segmentation, and reporting

Oversee paid acquisition strategy and manage advertising vendors

Ensure consistent, marketing-driven lead flow into the Guide Program

Coordinate messaging and timing with media and social teams

Lead Referral Report & Partner Intake System

Own the Lead Referral intake process end to end

Improve quality, completeness, and usability of Lead Referral Reports

Increase the percentage of subscribers requesting creative partner introductions (target: 5%)

Optimize the full journey from subscriber to intake to report delivery

Down-Sell Product Marketing
You will lead product marketing for all StoryBrand down-sell offers, including:

Soundbite Strategy On-Demand Course

StoryBrand Live Workshops

StoryBrand Private Workshops

StoryBrand Mastermind

StoryBrand Sales Training

Responsibilities include funnel architecture, launches, nurture sequences, landing pages, retargeting, and conversion optimization.

HubSpot Ownership

Serve as StoryBrand’s HubSpot power user and system architect

Build dashboards, scoring systems, workflows, segmentation, and attribution models

Maintain funnel clarity, data accuracy, and system reliability at scale

Leadership & Collaboration

Manage an internal copywriter and project manager

Collaborate closely with media, sales, production, and Guide Program teams

Manage external advertising and social vendors

Approve (and contribute to) marketing copy, ads, landing pages, and email campaigns

Hire and scale the marketing team as the business grows

The Opportunity

The Ideal Candidate

Is a senior-level marketing operator who:

• Has a strong direct-response marketing background
• Has built or scaled high-volume, multi-step funnels
• Is deeply fluent in HubSpot workflows, segmentation, dashboards, and attribution
• Thinks in systems and enjoys bringing structure to complexity
• Is execution-driven, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
• Communicates well with executives and fast-moving teams
• Brings optimism, emotional maturity, and a solutions-focused mindset

B2B and SMB marketing experience is strongly preferred. Experience in online education is helpful but not required.
This role requires in-office work in Nashville, TN.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 90 Days

Map the entire marketing factory floor inside HubSpot

Audit intake flows, down-sell funnels, and automation systems

Deliver a prioritized optimization plan to executive leadership

Improve subscriber onboarding and alignment with weekly video cadence

Build executive dashboards for daily and weekly KPI tracking

First 6 Months

Increase Weekly Soundbite subscription momentum toward 1,000/day

Improve intake process and Lead Referral Report accuracy

Deliver predictable, qualified lead flow for the Guide Program

Rebuild at least one down-sell funnel for measurable conversion gains

Optimize paid acquisition performance with vendor partners

Clarify cross-funnel attribution and reporting

First 12 Months

Achieve or exceed a 5% creative partner introduction request rate

Deliver consistently high-quality Lead Referral Reports

Establish predictable revenue across down-sell products

Fully unify and streamline the marketing factory floor

Demonstrate readiness for SVP-level leadership and executive planning
